MANILA, Philippines — Tropical depression “Cosme” has remained stationary off the eastern Luzon coast, and together with a low pressure area, is expected to bring rains to Luzon and the Western Visayas, the state weather bureau said.

At 10 p.m., “Cosme” was located 390 kilometers west-southwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro province, where it has stayed for the last six hours, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 11 p.m. bulletin.

The low pressure area was located 150 kilometers east-northeast of Casiguran town in Aurora province, PAGASA said.

The storm, which packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, was moving north at seven kilometers per hour.

It was forecast to be at 290 kilometers southwest of Iba town, Zambales province on Thursday evening, 240 kilometers west of Iba by Friday evening, and 280 kilometers west of the same town by Saturday evening, the bureau said.
