CLARK FIELD, Pampanga — A former police colonel linked to the 2000 murders of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver, Emmanuel Corbito, has implicated five other persons in the affidavit he submitted to the Department of Justice (DoJ), Secretary Raul Gonzalez said Tuesday.
However, Gonzalez refused to identify the five who Senior Superintendent Cesar Mancao implicated.
All he would say was: “They’re alive.”
Asked if Mancao had tagged a senator, Gonzalez replied, “I don’t want to answer that question.”
Senator Panfilo Lacson, former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has claimed Malacañang is pressuring Mancao to link him to the Dacer-Corbito murders. Mancao was his aide.
In an interview with reporters after a Cabinet meeting here, Gonzalez said Mancao would be extradited from the United States in two weeks.
“Mr. Mancao does not like to be detained at the PNP,” Gonzalez said. “His concern is his security.”
Gonzalez said Mancao’s affidavit was enough to “at least establish probable cause” against the suspects in the killings.
